Favorite "It's Saturday, but Dad has to Work Day" Outing
Within the same street block is our library, farmers' market, and fountain. Going to all three is the ultimate hip thing to do on a warm Saturday afternoon. Don't get there too late, the market closes at 2, library at 5.
A few months ago, city workers installed some artwork at the town square. My mom thought the sculptures looked like grenades or those annoying seeds that get stuck on your socks. It turns out they're sweet gum, or as my mom likes to call them "those annoying seeds that get stuck on your socks".
Farm Fresh Flowers
I wanted to show off some of the produce, but my dad doesn't know how to focus a camera with auto focus, so until my mom remembers to do it, we're out of luck.
This week we got:
Swiss Chard
Sweet Onions
Big Lettuces
Cilantro
Sugar Snap Peas

Man Cave
Money well-spent.
We got a Nintendo and several games for $5 at a garage sale. Finally, a game Gabe (and his mom) can play.
Almost complete. We're still waiting on some guitar wall hooks and photos for the walls. We found a great Disney/police officer print we can't wait to share.

A Few Updates
Kitty Jones got his stitches taken out yesterday. He's pretty much all healed up and acting like his usual self. He's no longer allowed outside and he seems to have come to term with that.
We've been catching up housework we couldn't get to during the school year. We updated the basement den. We pulled out the beige carpet (beige doesn't do well with kids and cats and a garage entryway) and painted the beige walls. The flooring is finally completed. Now, we just need a new couch down there. Our current one is the most uncomfortable one ever. Our next project is dry walling the downstairs bathroom and garage. After the bathroom walls go up, we can have Bath Fitter put up the shower. It will be nice to have two bathrooms again.
We've been enjoying our summer share of crops from the farm. It's so great to know where our food is coming from. This week we picked up:
- Pea Shoots
- Cipollini Onions
- Salad mix
- Butter Lettuces
- Cilantro
We've started getting fresh eggs there too.
The weather just started to get nice here, so we've been able to continue our Disney World Fitness Plan. We've been trying to walk at least 4 miles a few times a week. Gabe can do about a mile max and then hops in the stroller.
Gabe's big thing lately is setting up "museums." As you can see here, we have dinosaurs on display on top of the front door. The My Little Pony is the largest of all dinosaurs.
