Officer Timothy Brenton

Patrick worked with Officer Brenton. They worked at the same precinct, the same shift and same day on/off schedule. They went to calls together and saw each other everyday at roll call. He was Patrick's friend.
This is a sad time for us and all police families.

Update

Gabe had an optometrist appointment today and his eyes are fine. He's not colorblind, has depth perception and 20/20 vision. For those of you wondering, the doctor uses black shapes (duck, birthday cake, horse, hand) instead of letters. Gabe insisted the cake was a fountain.
Gabe has a very large vocabulary and surprises us everyday with the things he comes up with. Yesterday, while on a walk he told me we had, "made an agreement." He also says some not so nice things that are really hard not to laugh about.
Gabe enjoys singing songs from TV shows or nursery rhymes. He loves singing Three Blind Mice, but unfortunately insists that we sing it with him over and over again. Earlier in the car he was singing, "Three blind cars, three blind cars, see how they run," to himself.
Gabe also has quite the imagination and can spend lots of time role playing with his army guys and hot wheels.

Fancy

We bought Gabe some plain white ribbed cotten tank top undershirts, also commonly referred to as "wife beaters" yesterday. He decided he wanted to wear one to bed and as I put it on him he said, "Oh this is fancy." LOL

First Dental Check

I did an excellent job at the dentist today. I got x-rays and a cleaning. My teeth are perfect and I have no problems. Way to go Mom and Dad!

A Few Notes From Mommy

Gabe's really been a crack up lately. He picks up new phrases every day. Here are some good ones
  • "Where'd you get that stupid box?" He says that every time I'm carrying around a box
  • "It's me, Gabe"
  • Sometimes he calls us by our given names
  • "Sure"
  • "Mommy you're not mean. Daddy is mean. He's as grumpy as Mr. Frumble."
  • "I can't find it anywhere."
  • "It's around here somewhere."
  • "I need wings for Christmas. I need wings, so I can fly like a crow and live in the trees."
  • "I want money."
Gabe's also making great strides at potty training. He got frustrated the other day because he didn't know how to read the letters in his book. I told him that he could learn how to read at school, but you can't go to school until you sit on the potty. Since then he's all about sitting on the potty. He still needs bribes, but it's much improvement from where we were.
