Art Show

Gabe's Preschool Art Slideshow from Patrick Michaud on Vimeo.

Don't know what happens to the music in the second part. Vimeo keeps deleting the rest of the music.
Mom, does God also care for zombies?

I found Gabe listening to radio news in his room this morning. When I walked in he exclaimed, "Mom, Michael Jackson is dead!" He was very concerned, and worried about how we were going to listen to his music.

Gabe's first time as goalie. He did awesome and blocked every goal attempt.

My Quotable Kid Journal

Follow the link for more info:

A few excerpts from the journal:
Mom, I'll be glad when you're done painting the house, so you can be normal again.

Gabe -Grammie forgot to brush my teeth last night.
mom- Well, you must have forgotten, too. You could have reminded her.
Gabe- I tried to, but she pushed me on the bed and wouldn't let me. And, she made me sleep on the hard window sill. And then, she pushed me out the window.

You can do it at a trot...

You can do it at a gallop. You can do it real slow, so you heart won't palpitate. Just don't be late.
Do the Puyallup.

We're in the big leagues now

#2

My soccer camp really paid off. I'm more focused on the game this season. We're now playing on a larger field, coaches aren't allowed on the field, and we have a real referee.  We played our first game this weekend and it was a bit chaotic, but I'm sure we'll have it figured out by the end of the season.

Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus

I loved the circus. It was so much fun. My favorite part was the motorcyclist.

Mom was glad to see they weren't performing with the large cats like last time. They have somehow trained housecats to do tricks. Yeah, pretty amazing. Mom is really torn about going to the circus. She thinks it could be just as great without the elephants. She went with me and dad, hid from the protesters, and refused to clap for the elephants, but she still had a good time. I mean, those cat trainers were pretty awesome. Here's a mostly neutral story about the elephants and the circus: http://www.heraldnet.com/article/20110904/NEWS01/709049899#0

Bear Week

Self portrait and Bear Songbook full of Bear themed songs

Bear bread
This week's theme was bears. I learned all about them, and shared my police bear with the class. This week we're looking for the gingerbread man. He's been leaving clues for us in our classroom.

First day of Kindergarten

My teddy bear gets to spend stay at school for the next week. He's keeping the other bears in line.

It's definitely sunny

Winnie the Pooh play figures. This ties in perfectly with my at home curriculum. I'm currently ready Disney's Winnie the Pooh Stories and will soon start the originals. Then, I can go see the new movie.

Note from mom:
Gabe started school today. He's attending a private Christian school. He goes for 3 hours a day, five days a week. There are 16 kids in his class, one teacher, and regular parent helpers. Everyone we have talked to has highly recommended the school and teachers. I was a little concerned about the religious aspect of the curriculum, but after talking to another family who is completely unreligious they reassured us that everything will be fine.

Gabe was very excited about going to school today and said he had fun. It's hard to find out what happens when we aren't around. He likes to make up stories, so we don't always know if he's telling the truth or not. Today, according to him, the big event was playing on a new playground, and playing with a pretend kitchen. He did say kids were throwing food at him while he was playing in the kitchen, but he didn't seem too upset about it.
