A friend took mom and I to one of our local zoos. I was pretty disappointed that there weren't any giraffes, but these clouded leopard cubs were pretty cute. They are about two weeks old. One is a boy and one is a girl. They were supposed to debut tomorrow, but we got lucky.

Expanding Soap
Note from mom:
I wish we had smell-o-vision. I swear this created a toxic smoke. If you plan on doing this, I would make sure you use an unscented soap and do this in a well-ventilated area. I got the soap from a friend who had done this and she didn't mention the overpowering perfume smell.
This idea of putting Ivory Soap in the microwave is all over Pintrest and like I said my friend did it. I don't know why the soap expands. The post doesn't have a lot of scientific info, so we focused on using the scientific method to guess what would happen, observe, and document.
Also, the author recommends putting this stuff in the microwave for 3 minutes. Do NOT put it in for that long. It only took about 30 seconds for this stuff to get out of control.
Overall, Gabe thought it was pretty cool. We left the house soon afterward to prevent me from getting a massive odor-induced headache. We're using the soap remnants in the shower.

Daddy's going to be jealous
Phew, this showed up in the mail just in time. I told my parents I was going to run away because I never get anything in the mail (not true). Then, this showed up from Grandma and Grandpa. We sure wish we were in Arizona for spring training.

Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss
Mom and I are focusing on Dr. Suess books this week. We started with One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish. We couldn't find our copy, so we found someone reading it on YouTube. Then, I did a fish pattern worksheet and fish number spelling and matching.
We followed this up with some dinnertime readings by dad. My mom's new favorite: The Great Henry McBride; Steak for Supper; and Tad and Todd from the Bippolo Seed.
